Meet
Maynard.
One of the most picky-finnicky eaters I have ever had the pleasure to own and
breed. Maynard doesn't like any type of food more than once. He will take 8
hours to eat one meal. He fasts for 3 days then eats a bit then fasts again
especially if he knows the shows are coming up. He has been on 3 different kinds
of kibble in his 2 years of life. I have cooked for him, given different canned
foods, mixed cheese into his food, sprinkled Romano cheese on his food, made
him eggs, given him table scraps added energel and anything else you could think
of to get him to eat. I've also put his food down for 20 minutes then taken
it away and given it back to him at dinner - he just sits there and looks at
you as if to say - "yea I know that was breakfast - you think I'm going
to eat it now your nuts" then he'll lay down and stare at you.
I met the folks who own Stella and Chewy's at the Atlantic City Pet Supply Trade
Show. I spoke with them for a while and took away some samples and the literature
about the food. Then I bought some - since I won't sell anything I don't try
on my own dogs first, I figured Maynard would be a prime candidate to try this
food on.
Well
much to my surprise and GREAT pleasure - Mr Maynard has eaten for the past 5
days (experiment started on Friday, April 29, 2005 - it is now Wednesday, May
3, and Maynard has eaten every meal we have given him with the dried beef patties
in it.
If this isn't a testimonial to a great product I don't know what is.
I will update this experiment over the next few weeks to ensure it's validity.
